FRONIUS IG inverters receive CEC and NYSERDA listing

(03.15.2004)

Santa Barbara, CA. Fronius USA Solar Electronics Division, a world leader in power electronics, announced that it received eligibility listing for two state level incentive programs. The FRONIUS IG 3000, IG 2000 and IG 2500-LV grid-tied inverters have qualified for the California Energy Commission (CEC) eligibility listing for the Emerging Renewables Program Rebates as well as the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) photovoltaic funding programs.

The CEC ratings for the IG series is 94% at each of the units' maximum AC output power: 2700 W, 2000 W, and 2350 W for the IG 3000, IG 2000, and IG 2500-LV, respectively. CEC listing of the IG inverters can be found at http://www.consumerenergycenter.org/erprebate/equipment.html, while NYSERDA's approvals can be found at http://www.dps.state.ny.us/SIRDevices.PDF.

"With the recent completion of UL and now our eligibility for these two state programs, Fronius is in a great position to begin delivering the IG inverters for the growing grid-connected markets in California and New York." says Mark Stimson, Director of Sales and Marketing for Fronius USA - Solar Electronics Division. "Knowing that Fronius has successfully completed eligibility for the CEC and NYSERDA programs will allow local installers to take advantage of great features and benefits that these inverters offer."

The FRONIUS IG inverters offer high efficiency, precision MPP-tracking, and intelligent thermal management, all of which result in superior energy output from grid-tied photovoltaic systems. At 26 lbs., the FRONIUS IG inverters are less than half the weight of competing inverters. Built-in DC and AC disconnects eliminate the need for external breakers in many cases, reducing total system costs. FRONIUS IG inverters come standard with an integrated LCD where the installer can view and record over 20 parameters pertaining to inverter and system operation. Optional remote data communications and data logging features can easily be added via Plug-n-Play cards to transform IG inverters into a sophisticated data acquisition system and weather station.

Fronius USA has also begun its installer and dealer training at their Santa Barbara office. For more information on upcoming classes, visit http://www.fronius.com/worldwide/usa.solarelectronics/
